Day 1
Day 1
Meeting of participants, transfer to Terskol at a height of 2100 meters and a gala dinner
Day 2
Day 2
Tracking to the waterfall "Maiden spit" and Observatory of Russian Academy of Sciences "Peak Terskol" 3100 meters above sea level
Acclimatization exit to the waterfall called "Maiden spit", which is 2700 meters above the sea. This is a simple and picturesque walk on a flat serpentine, but it may seem quite difficult for the unprepared tourists. However, the beauty of a powerful mountain waterfall, which flow is filled with the greatest force at the peak of the tourist season of July-August due to the melting of glaciers under the scorching sun, allows you to forget about the difficulties and gives a real pleasure. By the way, the most courageous can swim in the ice streams of the waterfall, that starts in the glaciers of Elbrus and appears here in all its glory. Then we`re going to visit the Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences, located at yhe altitude of 3100 meters through the geological formation of "Basalt columnar" or, as they call it, "Lava body" because of Elbrus ( it is a stratovolcano). The Observatory offers incredible panoramas of the Main Caucasus mountain range and Elbrus, so we will stay here for a photo shoot and filming the journey. The whole journey of this day is going to take 3,5-4 hours, plus 1,5 for the descent, swimming in the waterfall, taking fotos and having a small lunch. Then return to Terskol, a little rest and a dinner in the famous cafe called "Dome", which became a cult meeting place for climbers, thanks to delicious dishes and the tradition to leave as a keepsake the flags and coats of arms of different alpinist teams after successful ascents. In the evening we will discuss the past day and network with participants.
P.S. Despite the ease of climbing at an altitude of 3000 meters, the first signs of hypoxia - oxygen starvation may appear: shortness of breath, dizziness, weakness, yawning, headache, etc. Please inform the instructor immediately, 1 of 1000 people has individual intolerance to height, and iafter all — you don`t have to be shy in the mountains.Day 3
Day 3
Peak Cheget 3461 meters, paragliding flights, equipment rental and sauna
After the breakfast we`re going to take one more acclimatization walk to the mountain Cheget, which is 3461 high. Cheget is one of the most famous and popular russian ski slope for extreme skiing and freeride. The first part of our way we will overcome with the help of a fantastic chairlift constructed during the Soviet period. And here where the comfort ends for today - to the very top we`ll have to go by foot. We need this physical activity at an altitude of more than 3000 meters for a competent acclimatization. Therefore, here we will conduct team building and networking with a beautiful panorama of the surrounding mountains and a view of our main target - the top of Elbrus (5642 meters). After lunch we go back to Terskol, and, if the weather allows, it can be done in different ways: on a cable car, on foot or on a paraglider with an instructor. Flying at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level, surrounded by snow-white mountains and green valleys will give you the most vivid impressions of active rest on Elbrus and provide the right degree of adrenaline rush before climbing to the top. After going
down, we select the necessary equipment for climbing: grapnels, ice axes and other equipment for those who did not bother about buying it in advance: warm coats, leggings or shoes. Having chosen all necessary things, we take a rope, a soap and — hang ourselves :) Relax, we`re kidding. Now we`re going to take a little bath before going to the mountains next morning. In the evening we will have a sauna complex with a swimming pool, where we will rest before tomorrow's ascent.
Day 4
Day 4
Ascent to station "Mir" 3500 meters and high-mountain, space-eco-hotel Leaprus 3912
In the morning we have a hearty breakfast and then we start going up to Elbrus. Using the cable car from the meadow of Azau we climb to the station «Mir», from where we have to walk to the highest hotel in Europe called «LeapRus» (translation - «Russian jump», 3912 meters above sea level). This unique hotel for alpinists, skiers and mountain tours fans has no analogues in Russia and even in the world. It is located on the southern slope of Elbrus, at an altitude of 3912 meters above sea level, between Gara Bashi and the Shelter of 11. Comfortable hotel modules of the «LeapRus» hotel resemble space capsules, they were created by a specially developed technology of the Italian company «LEAP factory». This highland hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay before the ascent: hot shower, bathroom inside the capsule, underfloor heating, individual air conditioning etc., that will provide almost impossible comfort for this height. After the check-in we go on a small tour between the super-hotel modules and for a walk through the classic mountaineering shelters on the slope of Elbrus to acclimatize bettter: here you can already feel the height fully, someone may feel dizzy and even get a headache, but all this can be treated with motor activity and some medecine. Before going to bed, we will gather for dinner in the hotel's stateroom with a beautiful panoramic view and we`re going to watch the stars.
P.S.: if a participant has altitude sickness symptoms, which do not pass after physical activity and receiving the intended medication, then we returnig him/her down to Azau valley at the first opportunity with the conservation the attempt of ascension.
Day 5
Day 5
"Pastukhov rocks" 4700 meters and snow-ice classes
Waking up, delicious Breakfast in a super-hotel with mountain views and a walk to the Pastukhov Rocks at a height of 4700 meters with a program of team building and conducting theoretical and practical snow and ice classes: self-insurance on the slope, using the grapnels on the ice. After lunch and the discussion of the next day program we start to examine and to select the personal equipment, preparing for the ascent. In the evening, we`re going to try to go to bed early to relax before the assault of the highest point of Europe.
Day 6
Day 6
Day of ascent to Elbrus 5642-climbing to the top
Today is the most difficult day - climbing to the top. The ascent takes place on the route 2A category of difficulty and does not require special skills, but it is necessary to be careful, because the mountains are not joking. Early start at 4 am, if you use a snowcat to Pastukhov rocks, you can start at 5 am. We will discuss at the meeting, but based on experience, who goes to ratrake, does not reach the top. The duration of the ascent is 6-10 hours (depending on the level of training of the group) plus the descent is 2-4 hours. Cats put on at the exit of the Alpine shelter. The trail to the top is marked with poles, but you can go up only in good weather! There are many cracks covered with snow on the glacier, so it is better not to go off the trail. At the peak of the season, ice exits are rare, but there are areas of solid firn - dense, coarse-grained, caked snow. Climbing to the top, professional photo session and descent to the hotel. A little rest from the ascent and descent into civilization on the meadow Azau, where we celebrate the successful ascent.
Day 7
Day 7
Spare day for climbing or for rest in the meadow Azau
Reserve day in case of bad weather on the previous day. The reserve can also be used if the group is not ready to go on the ascent on the 6th day. In this case, rest, gain strength and go to the 7th!
If the climbing will take place as planned, this day we ride on horseback through the Baksan gorge to the "Mineral water" from the "Valley of Narzans", fly a glider or go on a tour of Aushigerskaya thermal hot springs with healing mud, which restores power after the climb. In the evening, a gala dinner with an exchange of views on the ascent and travel.
Day 8
Day 8
Transfer to "Mineralnye Vody" airport and departure
In the morning we have Breakfast, we gather and go to the airport "Mineralnye Vody". Recommended flights will send the coordinator of the trip. The flight should not be before 11 o'clock in the morning, so that we do not go along the mountain road of the Baksan gorge in the dark.
